Welcome to Vampires Among Us©. This website was originally designed to feature content pertaining to the entire vampire genre, from roleplaying to fiction to real life and everything in between. I truly hope it proves to be a useful and informative tool for all those who pass by, as well to serve as a haven to the outcasts of society and those who prefer the darker side of life. Vampires Among Us© is operated solely by myself (Rose Noire), updated monthly and contains over 60 pages worth of information, content, games, reviews and more. When I first started out with webdesigning in 1996, this place looked like...well...See for yourself what it looked like. Since then I have progressed rather significantly, I believe, and all, I am proud to say, on my own merits. Thus, I hope you can understand and appreciate the effort and pure devotion to the vampyre/vampire community which is the backbone of VAU©. But anyway, I digress...the message I hope to get across via this site is that everyone should keep an open mind about everything....there is no right or wrong, no good or evil...who are we to determine these facts? Truly, it is all a matter of perspective. Anything is possible...just because we have not seen something or have no conventional explanation for it does not mean that something does not exist. Some things are unexplainable, and though we may fear the unexplainable we should not dismiss it as an option. So in essence, all I am saying is keep your hands and feet inside the website and maintain an open mind at all times...
VAU does not contain nor endorse pornography of any type. The only nudity you will see at this site might be in the context of art (paintings, art photography, etc) and will not be explicit or graphic. It is my hope that VAU assimilates a dark aesthetic atmosphere and I will never, NEVER endorse or support any banners, links that wish me to display pornographic content in exchange for money. Those of you who have been long-term visitors of VAU will remember that the last (angelfire.com) incarnation of VAU was hacked into and destroyed by an internet porn company back in 1999. I am not even going to open up that can of worms again...I may hurt something close nearby. I also despise ads of all kinds, thus you should find VAU to be an ad-free surfing experience (whoohoo!). VAU does not belong to any banner exchanges anymore, simply because I do not wish for further advertising clutter either. I do so hate clutter. Furthermore, VAU does not support any satanic or hate sites/content of any kind. Not that you're not entitled to your opinion, it's just that many people tend to hate blindly because they are ignorant...or worse...afraid. I believe in tolerance, acceptance and understanding...a balance of light and dark. And Sometimes to reach the light, you have to venture into the darkness for a little, sure...but it's important not to let it consume you whole.

Now, to the legal aspects. First of all, contrary to popular belief, this website is in no way affiliated with the book "Vampires Among Us" by Rosemary Ellen Guiley. Enough said. I really do not want to be sued over VAU©...it just isn't worth it. I refer to trademarks and copyrights on these pages to voice my opinion or to provide information and so on for my visitors. I also take some poems, book exerpts, songs and various other things and use them in the same manner. Finally, most of the graphics on my website are made by myself, though here and there are some pictures from other free graphic websites as well as scanned images from books, pictures and more. I can understand if anyone who owns any of these things I have mentioned should wish me to remove them for whatever reason. You have but to ask and I will do so with my sincere apologies. In return, I request that you do not steal any of my original graphics without my permission. Ask first and you never know, but if I catch any of them on your site without my knowledge of a prior arrangement, then be forewarned that I will take action. You will seriously regret what you have done...believe me.  I have had several whole websites shut down in the past, after they had stolen my graphics and writing.

The content within VAU© might be considered controversial and offensive to some visitors, therefore, although age in general isn't particularily a decisive factor, it is advised that only mature minds enter. For the most part, VAU© tends to focus on the fictional aspect of the vampire genre; However, there are pages which deal with real vampirism, including bloodletting, psionics, magickal practices and the occult in general. Also, people visiting the various chat rooms and/or posting entries in the guestbook/message board/etc might use profanity, talk about potentially offensive subjects, or conduct themselves rudely. Please do not hold VAU© or myself responsible for the actions of other people, and also bear in mind that various claims others might make in general are not always true. This is cyberspace after all, the land of poseurs, so needless to say just avoid those types who rave on and on about how if you'll only come to them in a dark, empty alley in the middle of the night, they will give you immortality. BE SAFE and USE DISCRETION,please! Neither the vampire nor the vampyre community appreciates having it's reputation sullied by the few who commit heinous acts under its supposed "wing" (In other words, the Rod Ferrels and Jeffrey Dahmers of the world are NOT generally considered "valued members"), and I advise everyone to be as cautious as possible regarding personal information you might give out.
